ASUS Transformer Prime Key Features:

  • Light and thin – stylish design comparable to an iPad 2.
  • NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor – the most advanced processor used in a tablet PC yet.
  • Android 3.2 – promised upgrade to Android 4.0 soon.
  • Screen is a 10.1-inch multi-touch Super IPS panel – it’s responsive, bright & vivid, high resolution screen, with great viewing angles.
  • 8 MP camera – for taking stills and HD video.
  • 1.2 MP web cam – for video chat
  • Sonic Master technology for enhanced audio quality for music lovers.
  • Keyboard dock turns it into a slim netbook – with up to 18 hours of battery life, a full qwerty keyboard and touchpad, plus USB and SD card slots

  13. [..YouTube..] @BADBOYKIEV thanks for the comment. Yes. I’ve also had some issues with GPS unless Wi-Fi is on. It seems that GPS doesn’t work well without the Wi-Fi support to assist it. Seems like this is a widespread issue so may be fixed with a future update but no guarantees.

  43. [..YouTube..] @darkknkight20 i can honestly say the prime is better for school because you have supernotes (and app for taking notes with your finger and stylus), Polaris (right word document as well as powerpoint and exel) and with the keyboard added it’s like a laptop exept it ran by android. The is also enough space to type a doc on the keyboard it self (but i have fairly small hands).

  49. [..YouTube..] @MyCooldude1 thanks for leaving your comments. I’d agree with you that Polaris is a good tablet PC app for light wordprocessing and excel work. I wrote about 1500 words on it for a review of this tablet and is was fine. If you’re typing very long documents though you probably want a full size keyboard as the keys are quite tight on the keyboard. However if you want the mix of a versatile mobile tablet and the keyboard add-on to make a netbook then this is a very good option.

  56. [..YouTube..] @tabletpcuk The iPad has Pages, Numbers and Keynote, which are better looking & simpler than the Prime’s. Saying that the Prime is better because it has Polaris Office is wrong. I’m a university student and have used the iPad in school for almost six months now. You can also choose to save you documents in .doc .pdf and .pages on the iPad.

  59. [..YouTube..] @tabletpcuk On the iPad documents auto-save, which Polaris Office doesn’t, so if the application crashes, your work is lost. If you want a keyboard, you can get Apples full size one for 80 bucks. That being said, the Transformer Prime is an excellent tablet, I just don’t want you to be mislead.

  68. [..YouTube..] @RasmusSchoning thanks for your comments, great to get another opinion. I’ve got an iPad too and agree that Pages, Numbers and Keynote are great apps. I’d say the integration between the keyboard and tablet are better on the Transformer Prime as it’s specifically designed to fit perfectly together to create the netbook. Whereas the iPad keyboard is more of a seperate add-on.

  71. [..YouTube..] @RasmusSchoning just to add to my comment below. The decision between an Android tablet and an iPad is largely personal choice. The Transformer Prime has more ports and the operating system is more configurable. Conversely an iPad has a wider choice of apps specifically designed for it. Android tablet specific apps are a bit lacking at the moment. It will all change in time but really depends what’s important to you. Thanks for your feedback – much appreciated.

  89. [..YouTube..] Spent hours researching this item and i believe the prime has wifi and gps issues asus confirm it was earlier models released and the UK are safe from this problem because its been fix and there is no problems at all if you find one contact asus and they will refund you back. All the issues are coming from the americans as per usual if you buy off black market what do you expect keep your sellers genuine branded names not monkeys who have had these dodgy batches of primes. Can’t wait to get mine
