I haven’t seen much to get me excited this week so instead today on iPadTabletPCReview.com we’re going to have a look at a couple of stories that came through about devices of the future.
Back to the future…
Check out: “Cynergy’s magazine kiosk concept serves up digital content a la carte (video)” on the Engadget site. This could be the magazine rack of the future and a way to transfer paid content on to your tablet PC simply by laying the device on the surface of the screen, selecting what you want and letting the wizardry send it to your device. The picture below shows what we’re talking about.
Apple Insider picked up on how tablet devices have the potential to totally alter print & digital formats, as shown in a film produced for Viv Magazine – “Fascinating motion magazine demo highlights iPad’s potential”. The film gets you thinking how content in the future could well be a hybrid of text, film and imagery.
Qualcomm have put forward a patent application for a brand new multi-fold mobile device. I’ve included a few images but it’s easier to understand what this might look like in the engadget post “Qualcomm’s multi-fold mobile device is the future we keep waiting for”. Potenitally it’s a foldable tablet or an expandable cellphone that can reconfigure its user interface depending on how it’s folded. It’s going to be a long time until this device becomes reality but interesting food for thought for the future
That’s it for this week, hopefully there will be a few more reviews coming through over the next 7 days. Please contact me if you’ve spotted any other reviews or leave comments on this post. Also which of these futuristic devices do you think will catch on or how else you think the tablet PC world will evolve?
